Joe Gibbs Racing Primed for Big Season

Charlotte -  Hendrick Motorsports boasts the biggest names in NASCAR with its four-car stable of Johnson, Earnhardt, Gordon and Kahne.

Among the three-car teams, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more talented bunch than Joe Gibbs Racing.

Joe Gibbs Racing didn't win the championship last year, but did have drivers finish second (Matt Kenseth) and fourth (Kyle Busch) in points.  And now healthy from a broken back, another Gibbs driver Denny Hamlin is eager to build on a season-ending win at Homestead.

Denny Hamlin, 9TH CUP SEASON WITH JGR, said "It's gonna be a redemption year.  It's gonna be a year that we've got to prove ourselves that we're back that I've got to prove to myself that I can be back to where I was and it's gonna take a lot of work to do it."

Matt Kenseth comes off a great first year with Joe Gibbs, second in points with SEVEN trips to Victory Lane.

Matt Kenseth, 2ND SEASON WITH JGR (7 WINS IN '13), said "It certainly exceeded my expectations, stepping in there you know with a new group, new organization, new crew chief, all that stuff.  So it was a great year, it'll be hard to top that but we're certainly going to try."

Kyle Busch, who wound up fourth in points, is not a fan of the new Chase format.  But happy or not, Busch can drive with NASCAR's best.

Kyle Busch, 4TH IN POINTS IN '13 (4 WINS), said "I think there's gonna be a lot more risk-takers with this strategy than maybe what there had been in the past.  But you're also going to have to weigh that risk and know what consequences it has for you, too."

Joe Gibbs, TEAM OWNER, said "Our guys they've got a great chemistry, I think they're all capable.  I go to the race track every weekend excited because I think all three of them could win every single weekend."
