Roanoke Co. Police Release Photos of Suspect in Bank Robbery that Caused Lockdowns of Nearby Schools

Roanoke Co., VA – Roanoke Police have released security camera pictures of the suspect in an armed bank robbery that caused eight schools to lockdown for a short time Tuesday.

Police say the suspect walked into the Union First Market Bank in the 3600 Block of Electric Road around noon wearing a mask and gloves.

The suspect approached the teller and displayed a handgun, demanding money.

After getting the money, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen running toward Chaparral Drive.

The suspect is described as 6' 3" tall and lanky. The man was wearing a tan canvas jacket and blue jeans, police say.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Photos of the suspect approaching the bank and in the bank are seen to the left.
