Appomattox Shooting Suspect Arraigned

Appomattox, VA - The Appomattox man who allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife at a gas station was arraigned Wednesday morning.

Aubrey Evans, III, 69, is being charged with first degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle as well as use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Evans was escorted into court by seven officers and was wearing a ballistics vest; something the Sheriff says is common for high profile cases.

Evans is charged with killing Laura Lee Evans, 45, at the Marathon gas station.

He is scheduled to be back in court on March 13th.
