Danville, VA-- One local health care organization in Danville is taking measures to help the public better understand the Affordable Care Act.
Piedmont Access to Healthcare Services, also known as PATHS, is holding a presentation on Friday at 10 a.m. to explain the health care plan.
They will also address the need for Medicaid Expansion in Virginia. They said many of their patients would have to pay between $300- $400 a month in premiums and they just can't afford it.
They discovered 50 percent of their patients would qualify for Medicaid if it were offered.
The mayor of Danville and the CEO of Danville Regional Medical Center will be in attendance.
The event is open to the public.
