Shots Fired After Investigators Say Man Assaulted Family

Bedford Co,. VA - A man is facing multiple charges after a domestic dispute in Goode Sunday afternoon.
According to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers received a call from a frightened family at around 2:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Forest Road. The family says their son had threatened to kill them.
Officials say the son, Matthew B. Taylor, 23, got into an argument with his parents that turned physical. We're told the parents and their other son were trying to leave the residence, when Taylor got a handgun and started firing at them. Officials say Taylor shot the family's vehicle, and the Goode Post Office next door to the residence. Taylor left the scene but returned a short time later, at which time he was arrested.
The family says a protective order has been in place to protect the mother and younger brother from Matthew Taylor.
Taylor is facing several charges, including shooting into an occupied vehicle, domestic assault, and violating a protective order. He has been taken to the Bedford Adult Detention Center.
