Danville, VA - Snow started coming down around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in Danville and it piled up quickly.
The preparations started long before the first snowflake even hit the ground. Danville Public Works finished putting brine down on the roads Wednesday morning. More than 20 trucks were getting ready to plow the roads.
They had all hands on deck as crews filled the trucks with salt and gassed them up. The plows were staged throughout the city so they were ready to go. Public Works says they start plowing at about an inch of snow and as long as it is still snowing like this, they will keep plowing, all through the night.
Danville Police reporterd several accidents as of Wednesday at 4pm and over twenty cars stuck on Riverside alone.
