Snowy Roads Make for Slick Driving Conditions in Lynchburg

Lynchburg, VA- We know that the road conditions are the main concern for you all as this winter storm hits. We've been watching the snow pile up from a dusting to a dumping.

Traffic really died down throughout Wednesday night. Lynchburg's emergency dispatch says from the time flakes started falling to around 8 p.m., they got 70 calls for service related to the snow.

We're told Timberlake Road and Enterprise Drive got the most calls, with lots of fender benders and cars stuck in ditches. One or two of those accidents involved injuries.

Of course an accident is no fun for you or me, but tow truck companies were having a ball Wednesday night. The folks at Glenn A. Trent responded to calls non-stop.

"They'll deliver here and drop and go, and do another call. Or, they'll do a wench-out and call back and we'll give them another call and they'll continue on," said Jane Rigney-Trent, Vice President of Glenn A. Trent Towing.

"I'm not planning to go nowhere. I have a bag in my truck for extra clothes, socks, another pair of boots. Everything. I plan to be out all night," said tow truck driver Kevin Rose.

Drivers say things will calm down a little for them Wednesday night, but will pick right back up for them Thursday morning as people attempt to drive to work.
