Duke Energy: Customers Will Not Pay to Clean Up Coal Ash Spill

Posted:

Eden, N.C. - There has been speculation recently that Duke Energy would make their customers pay to clean up the big coal ash spill in the Dan River.

On Wednesday Duke Energy representative, Jeff Brooks, addressed those claims at a public forum in Eden, North Carolina.

Brooks said Duke Energy will not make customers pay for the clean up and they'll turn to their insurance to help pay for it.

The EPA will be holding another public forum on Thursday night  in South Boston. It starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Coleman Community Center.
