B&W Wins $1.3 Billion Defense Contract


Lynchburg, VA - Babcock and Wilcox has been awarded a $1.3 billion contract to support U.S. defense programs for the next three years.

The company's subsidiary, B&W Nuclear Operations Group, received the contract from the U.S. Naval Reactors Program.

Under the contract, B&W will manufacture nuclear components, including U.S. Naval nuclear power systems for submarines and aircraft carriers.

Some of the work for the contract will be done at Lynchburg's facility.
