UPDATE: Police Take Man Into Custody Near Moore's Country Store In Lynchburg


UPDATE: 5:57 p.m.

Campbell Co., VA - Major police activity outside Moore's Country Store on Route 460 in Campbell County gained a lot of attention Thursday morning.

A man was arrested Thursday on drug-related charges after investigators say he assaulted two police officers and resisted arrest.

At 9:30 a.m., authorities from multiple jurisdictions were at the store, including the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office, Lynchburg Police Department, and State Police.

Authorities tell me the large police presence was due to the assault--

The Central Virginia Drug Task Force is leading this operation and everything is under investigation at this time.

Police have not released the suspect's name but tell ABC 13 he is being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance as well as two counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.



Lynchburg, VA - There was a commotion at Moore's Country Store in Lynchburg this morning.  We received numerous viewer emails and tips about a high volume of police cars in the area.
