Tulsa Habitat for Humanity "Raises the Wall" on New Home

Posted: Updated:

In conjunction with financial expert Clark Howard and Jimmy Swindler of the Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers, Tulsa Habitat for Humanity helped "raise the wall" on a new home for a family Saturday morning.

The home will provide stability to a family in need and is being built in honor of Swindler's wife Nancy, who passed away in November.

The Swindler's helped build homes for Tulsa Habitat for Humanity since the organization began, Jane Dunbar of Tulsa Habitat for Humanity said.

Howard, a nationally syndicated radio guru, has helped build 50 homes nationally for Habitat for Humanity, this being his third Tulsa home to have helped build.

The house is being built for the Thawng Kahn Langh family from Burma, who are newly United States citizens. They will spend 50 hours of their own helping to build the house.

Dunbar said that the home-building process will take approximately eight weeks, with workers and volunteers taking two days a week to continue the construction.

Anyone interested in volunteering with Tulsa Habitat for Humanity can do so at www.tulsahabitat.org.
