Update: Lynchburg Crews Battle Fire at Sandrof Auto Body



Lynchburg, VA- Lynchburg Fire officials say part of an auto repair shop is considered a total loss after a fire Saturday night.

Crews responded to Sandrof Auto Body on Lakeside Drive around 9:45 p.m. When they arrived they found heavy flames and smoke coming from the roof of the building. We're told the roof collapsed shortly thereafter.

Crews worked quickly to contain the rapidly spreading fire. Firefighters were able to limit fire damage to the original part of the business, leaving the newer additions with mostly water damage. A total of 11 units responded to the fire. Crews were on the scene until about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
