Red Cross Assisting Several Families Displaced by Fires

The Red Cross is assisting several families in our viewing area that have been displaced by fires.

Nine people were left homeless after a fire at the Roman Eagles Nursing home in Danville Saturday. Red Cross provided shelter only. No other assistance was needed.

Sunday Red Cross volunteers continued to assist two adults and two children displaced by a fire in Lynchburg Friday. The individuals were provided with shelter in a local hotel for 3 nights, clothing, and food.

The Red Cross is also helping 16 people who were displaced by a fire last week at the Valley View Apartments in Lynchburg. The organization is still working with those affected by providing shelter, food, and clothing.
