Lynchburg, VA- There is no cause yet on what started the fire at Sandrof'sAuto Body Shop in Lynchburg on Saturday night.

Employees spent the dayMonday working with the fire department, city building officials, and insuranceadjusters, all of this on top of a normal business day.

Saturday night, Sandrof auto body shop owner Nick Sandrof was in Floridawhen he got the call about the fire.

"It's just kind of a sick feeling when you know your building is onfire and you are half way across the country," said Sandrof.

When Captain Thomas Goode got to the scene he saw the roof had collapsed.

"I'm thankful that we didn't have any fatalities in this situation especiallyfrom my brothers and sisters that were here actually fighting the fire. Itcould have been worse, just looking at the structure itself, it could have beena whole lot worse," said Goode.

Sandrof says the building that was lost is where they did metal work andthat if he had to pick which building to lose, it would be that one.

"Thankfully the fire wasn't anywhere chemicals were. It would have beena lot worse. Thankfully it didn't burn in the offices so we didn't lose anyinformation," said Sandrof.

Sandrof said he has gotten calls from tow companies, previous owners, evencompetitors, all asking what they can do to help.

"Although it's a bad experience, it's been a good experience. We had agood day yesterday with how many people came out and rallied around," saidSandrof.

According to the fire department, the building is condemned, "just toprotect the building and the contents as well as keep the people out and safe."

Sandrof said they will rebuild and move forward and that, "it'sinconvenient, but it's doable."

Sandrof is thankful for the Lynchburg Fire Department who contained the firein one room of the building, saving the rest of his shop.

He is also thankful for his employees who were at the scene until he couldmake it back from Florida.
