DGIF Didn't Find Anything 'Alarming' In Dan River

Danville, VA - Representatives from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries say they didn't find anything alarming in the Dan River Wednesday.

They were out looking for dead mussels along a three mile stretch of the river. But they say they haven't see anything of concern in the aftermath the coal ash spill.

They took samples at the bottom of the river and they tell us there is no evidence of large numbers of shells. We have reported that there have been a lot of shells on the banks of the river, the Department says that is due to animals eating the invertebrates, which is normal.
