Friends and Family Shave Heads for Nathan Norman

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - It was standing room only as the crowd gathered Friday at Lynchburg College.

The Hornets baseball team shaved their heads along with Nathan Norman's family in support for Nathan's fight with cancer and to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation.

That helps fund pediatric cancer research.

In all 102 people shaved their heads for this event.

The Norman's have really been advocates in the fight against pediatric cancer ever since Nathan was diagnosed with brain cancer.

So far they've raised 16-thousand dollars and counting.

Dawn Norman, Nathan's mom says, "Saint Baldrick's says hair grows back but kids don't. And you know that's one of the things that we say is you know, just whatever you can do. Pray for these children, help with research, and help make people aware."

Trey Elder, a Lynchburg College baseball player who participated says, "It was the first time I've ever shaved my head but it's for a good cause."

Nathan's mom took the stage with Nathan where they both had their heads shaved together.

This is the third year that LC has put on this event and this year was the biggest they've seen yet.
