Liberty University Hosts Fundraiser Lacrosse Game

Lynchburg, VA - At midnight Friday, the Liberty University men's lacrosse team played NC State in their second annual midnight blackout game.

The team wore all black and encouraged the entire campus to come out. This year though, the game acted as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.

The organization has partnered with the school for projects in the past. The game was just one other way Liberty was looking to help.

"They came with us to try to jump on board with what we're doing with the midnight game here and we thought it was a win-win situation, so anything that we can do to help promote their programs and get this house built here locally, we wanted to be a part of" said Kyle McQuillan, the team's head coach.

The event was free. Instead of spending money on a ticket, spectators were encouraged to donate that cost and be entered to win various prizes.
