Hundreds Turn Out to Danville's First Comprehensive Services Day

Posted:

Danville, VA - More than 500 people came out to the Danville Community Market for a day full of fun and games.

The city held their first Comprehensive Services Day.

There were more than 70 community resource vendors available along with health screenings, mini-seminars and plenty of entertainment.

The event was a way to introduce the new department of The Danville Office of Comprehensive Services to the community.

The department works to help troubled youth and their families through community-based services.

"The Office of Comprehensive Services decided to have a kick-off for a 20- year strategic plan toward prevention, pattern interruption and building social capital. We want to see Danville grow," said Comprehensive Services Coordinator Lillie Jones.

The department says they're planning to have another CSA Day and want to make it all about bringing families together.
