Update: Danville Police Make Arrest in Shooting, Burglary

Danville, VA- Danville Police have arrested a man for a burglary turned shooting early Sunday morning. It happened in the 1200 block of Lockett Drive around 3:15 a.m.

Officers were called to a home for a burglary in progress when they were told shots had been fired at the residence.

Police now say 36-year-old Kevin Michael Williams Senior and another man broke into the home, and the other man was shot in the process. He is listed in serious but stable condition at Duke University Medical Center.

Williams has been charged with burglary with intent to commit assault. He is currently being held in the Danville City Jail with no bond.

Danville, VA - Danville Police are investigating a burglary turned shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Lockett Drive for a burglary in progress around 3:15 a.m. Police were told two men had forced their way into a home and were attacking someone.

On their way to the scene, officers were told shots had been fired at the residence. When police arrived they found a person in the home with a gunshot wound.

The person was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center. The incident is still under investigation.
