Hillcats Roster Features Familiar Faces

Lynchburg - In addition to lots of young talent coming to Lynchburg, the Hillcats' opening day roster features plenty of familiar names and faces from last year's squad.

Left fielder Josh Elander, number 24, is back along with third baseman Levi Hyams, number 5. Trent Moses, Daniel Castro and Will Skinner are also among the 12 players returning who have spent time with the Hillcats.  Lynchburg opens the season at home Thursday night at 6:05 against Frederick.

Levi Hyams, HILLCATS SECOND/THIRD BASEMAN, said "In the last week, the lineups were solidified so we got to play with each other for like a week, play some games and really kind of get a feel for how everyone plays.  And this team is very relaxed, very confident and there's a lot of talent on here.  So I feel like we're going to go really far this year."

Josh Elander, LYNCHBURG HILLCATS LEFT FIELDER, said "When you have Peraza, I think he stole like 60-70 bases in Rome and then you have Wren behind him who stole 35 in not even a half-season down in Rome.  So when you've got those two guys at the top of the lineup, it's gonna be a lot of fun for the 3,4, 5 guys with opportunities to drive in runs."
