E.C. Glass Girls Soccer Beats Amherst Co. 3-1


Lynchburg - E.C. Glass broke open a scoreless tie against Amherst County with just over 16 minutes left, then added two more goals en route to a 3-1 win over the Lancers Thursday night in girls soccer at Glass.

Lauren Peake scored on a rebound for the first goal of the game after Amherst goalie Sabrina Harper had stopped Katie Griffin's first shot.

Tate Royer and Brooke Valentine added goals for the Hilltoppers to extend the lead to 3-0.

Karlan Saunders scored for Amherst in the final minutes to help the Lancers avoid being shut out.

With the win, the Hilltoppers improve to 3-1-and-1 overall on the season, 2-and-1 in the Seminole District.
