Authorities Search Randy Taylor's Property Again

Nelson Co., VA - There was a lot of police activity on the property of Randy Taylor in Nelson County today.

Taylor is charged with the murder and abduction of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy.

He has denied killing Murphy.  She was last seen at a Lovingston gas station caught on surveillance tapes.

Both the Nelson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI have been out here scouring the property.

Close to ten cars lined Route 29.

Investigator Bill Mays says he could not give any information about this search because of a gag order that's in place right now.

It says no law enforcement, attorneys, or employees in those offices can speak to the media about this case.

So we don't know if they were searching in the house or farther back on the property.

Investigator Mays says this search is like any other and is quote "nothing to get excited about."He would not comment when asked if there was any evidence that sparked this search.

But no one wanted to go on camera but Alexis's mother, Laura Murphy, told me investigators told her about the search and said it's in hopes to cover all their bases.

Randy Taylor's trial is set to start May 1st.
