Lynchburg - Trailing 4-1 in the eighth, number 5 seed Lynchburg rallied for two runs but came up one short in a 4-3 loss late Friday night to third-seeded Bridgewater in the ODAC Baseball Tournament at City Stadium.
LC outhit the Eagles 12-9, Lincoln Evans and Rob Tomasulo both had three hits with Tomasulo driving in two of the Hornets' three runs.
Nick Fulk went 3-for-3 for Bridgewater, Justin Petock and Zach Hynes drove in two runs each for the Eagles.
With the win, Bridgewater and Shenandoah are the two unbeaten teams remaining as the tourney enters the weekend, Bridgewater and Shenandoah will meet in Saturday's noon game, followed by Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon at 3:30 in a rematch of their first-round game Thursday, won by Lynchburg in 10 innings 3-1. The LC/Randolph-Macon winner stays alive, the loser is eliminated with its second loss.
Saturday's 7 o'clock game will pit the LC/Randolph-Macon winner against the Bridgewater/Shenandoah loser in an elimination game.
