Liebler Takes First-Day FoxPuss Lead

Lynchburg - 2010 champ Steve Liebler fired a 4-under 67 Friday afternoon to grab the first-round lead at the 41st-annual FoxPuss Invitational at Boonsboro Country Club.

Liebler has a three-shot lead after the opening round over Pulaski's Aaron Rygas, the only other golfer to break par at 1-under 70.  Another former champ, Ryan Stinnett of Amherst, is tied for third at even par 71 with three others, including 18-year-old Zach Bauchou of Forest, Ben Keefer of Glen Allen and Chris Cassetta of Winston-Salem.  Three-time CVIGT champion Lee Fisher of Lynchburg is in the group at 72, five shots behind Liebler.
That group includes Jon Hurst, Tony Good, Scott Shingler and Scott Garrison.

Six-time FoxPuss champion Keith Decker, the defending champion, opened with a 2-over 73, six shots off the pace.
