Flames Talk About Facing Top-Ranked UVa Baseball

Posted:
Exams are over for LU and UVa, now it's back to baseball.

The Flames got in a light workout Tuesday afternoon at Liberty Baseball Stadium prior to Wednesday night's 6 o'clock game at number one Virginia.
After a nine-day break, head coach Jim Toman says the Flames are going to be either really energized or really rusty.  He hasn't decided yet on a starting pitcher, but says playing the country's number one team is a great opportunity.

Jim Toman, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "They've been excited all year.  I think they'll have an extra step tomorrow night, I mean if you can't get ready to play Virginia, you're not gonna get ready to play anyone.  So it's exciting and I think the guys will play well."
Alex Close, FLAMES JUNIOR FIRST BASEMAN, said "We go in it, though, not thinking of a David and Goliath type thing.  We're confident and we know we're good, so yea I guess technically we don't have anything to lose but it's still gonna be a good win and hopefully we can pull it off."

Ryan Seiz, FLAMES JUNIOR SECOND BASEMAN, said "We really do want to win.  If we lose, we will be disappointed in ourselves because it's a great opportunity, especially for our R-P-I."
