Henry Co. Sheriff's Office Says Missing Man Found

Update: The Henry County Sheriff's Office released new information on a missing person case Monday night.

Major Ricky Walker said in a press release that 68 year old Silas Bascom Jewell was found safe in the county.

No other information has been released on this case.

Ridgeway, VA - The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a missing person case. 

68 year old Silas Bascom Jewell is missing and is described as a white male, 5’8”, 150 lbs. 

He was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans and a dark blue pull over dress shirt. He was last seen Monday morning at 8:00 in the 10,000 block of Greensboro Road at the intersection with J. B. Dalton Road, near his home in Ridgeway, VA. 

Mr. Jewell does have some medical issues and he has gone missing on one previous occasion. 

A note was found that he was going to catch a ride with a truck driver to Oklahoma but his personal items are still at the residence.

The Crime Stoppers program offers reward money up to the amount of $1000 for information related to crimes. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information provided will determine the amount of reward paid for information.
