Franklin Co., VA - Almost 5,000 people from across the region will flock to Franklin County for a weekend full of music.

The sixth annual Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival opened Friday at the Blue Mountain Festival Grounds and continues through Sunday.

There are 40 bands lined up to play with plenty of food and craft vendors.

Since the Rooster Walk started, organizers have donated $59,000 to local and regional charities and a memorial scholarship fund to Martinsville High School.

"There's a kids area. It's a lot of fun. We do a duck race every year of prizes where we put little rubber ducks in the creek that runs around the properly and it's a really great time. It's a good family- friendly environment for folks to come, relax, and enjoy and awesome weekend," said Jason Lagesse, President of Rooster Walk Inc..

Organizers say because of the big turnout every year, they'll move Rooster Walk to a much bigger space in Henry County.
