Buzz: May 30-June 1, Cheers, Bluegrass Benefit, Grandma's Hands, Wine Festival


Friday Cheers kicks off Friday night in downtown Lynchburg at the Community Market.

You can hear the band, Superhold, and enjoy an 80s themed night, it starts at 5:30.

Liberty High School in Bedford will host a blue grass benefit on Saturday for Luke Arrington, a local teenager battling cancer. Doors open at 4:30 and four bluegrass bands start at five. There will also be a silent auction and a meal served at 6:30.

Admission is ten dollars at the door and all the proceeds go to the Arrington family.

Saturday night at Dunbar Middle School in Lynchburg you can head to the premiere of Grandma's Hands. It's a play put on by Hargrove and Scott Christian Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 and the play starts at 7. Tickets are ten dollars.

The James River Wine and Music Festival is Saturday at Rebec Vineyards in Amherst.

It runs from 11 until 6. The festival will feature 12 Virginia wineries and three bands will perform. There will also be plenty of food and craft vendors. Tickets are still available and cost 25 bucks. But if you get them by May 30th, you can get them for 20 bucks.
