Heritage Athletes Eager to Play College Ball

Lynchburg - Heritage held its annual College Signing Day Thursday morning.  Eight members of this year's graduating class have been accepted to colleges where they intend to continue playing their chosen sports. Basketball's Cameron Carter is headed to North Greenville, Justen Joyner to Randolph College.  Football's Tyquante Sims will play for Virginia State, Yusef Poindexter with Concord, Kieran Phelps with Southern Virginia.
          Baseball's Marshall Davis has chosen Emory & Henry, Kane Bryant will walk on at Virginia Tech.  And softball's Chelsea Sadler also intends to walk on with the Hokies.

Cameron Carter, NORTH GREENVILLE BASKETBALL, said "You don't get a lot of athletes that go on and continue doing what they're doing in high school.  And I just feel like it's a great opportunity for me to take that chance at the next level."

Marshall Davis, EMORY & HENRY BASEBALL, said "I definitely need to get a little stronger and just work really hard this off-season and continue to play."
