High School Regional Semifinal Action & Scores


Softball:

Northside 2, Brookville 2  - Game was suspended in the bottom of the 7th due to a second lightning delay followed by heavy rain.  Brookville was batting in the 7th.  The game will be resumed Thursday afternoon at 4 at Liberty High School.  Patrick County and Turner Ashby will then follow the completion of the Northside-Brookville game.  SEE VIDEO PLAYER FOR HIGHLIGHTS

William Campbell 12, Mathews 0 - Keri Hamlett (WC): 4-4, 3 rbi's, 4 runs, 2 stolen bases, Gina Lawhorn hit a two-run homer and threw a five-hit shutout for the Generals.  William Campbell earns an automatic berth in the state semifinals and will play for the region championship Friday night at Rappahannock.  



Baseball:

Millbrook 12, Amherst Co. 3 - Millbrook broke open a 1-0 game in the top of the 6th scoring 9 runs.  Amherst closes out a great season 21-and-2.

William Campbell 6, Mathews 5 - Generals improve to 14-8 on the season and earn an automatic berth in the state semifinals.  They play on the road Friday night for the region championship.

Virginia High 9, Dan River 0 - Virginia scored three runs in the fourth, three in the fifth to break open a scoreless game through the first three innings.
Dan River finishes the year 18-3.

Randolph-Henry 11, Grayson 5 - Statesmen lock up an automatic berth in the state semifinals and will face Virginia High Friday at 7 at Dan Daniel Park in Danville for the Region 2A-West title.



 Boys Soccer:

Chancellor 1,Jefferson Forest 0 - Cameron Williams of Chancellor scored the lone goal late first half, Jefferson Forest closes the season 17-5-and-2.

Loudoun Co. 2, E.C. Glass 1 - Bailey Jennings (ECG): Goal, Loudoun broke a 1-all tie in the 78th minute after Glass had rallied to tie the game with about six minutes to play.

James River 4, Graham 3 - James River earns automatic berth to state semifinals




Girls Soccer:

Jefferson Forest 2, Heritage-Leesburg 1 - Katie Cousins, Cassidy Ratliff (JF): Goal, JF will host Dominion Friday at 6 for the region championship. Wednesday's game had to be stopped with 14 minutes left due to lightning, then heavy rain followed making the field unplayable.  Game was official since it passed the halfway point.

Dominion 3, E.C. Glass 0 - Hannah Royer (ECG): 7 saves, Hilltoppers finish season 15-5-and-2.
