Charlottesville - Only three of the eight national seeds named for the NCAA Baseball Tournament survived to reach the round of 16.

The highest remaining seed is number 3 Virginia, which plays host to Maryland this weekend,  Saturday and Sunday games are slated to start at noon at Davenport Field, with a game three, if necessary, tentatively scheduled for Monday afternoon at 4.  The Cavs and Terps played just one time this season, two weeks ago, when Maryland edged UVa 7-6 in the ACC Tournament.

Nick Howard, UVA JR. FIRST BASEMAN (MARYLAND NATIVE), said "It's a great competition between them.  I have a lot of childhood friends I grew up playing baseball with and it's always great seeing familiar faces."

Derek Fisher, UVA JUNIOR OUTFIELDER, said "In the Super Regional, you're gonna play a great team no matter what.  And for the fact that it is a team that's in the ACC and somebody that is pretty close to us, I think it's going to be a lot of fun."

BRIAN O'CONNOR, VIRGINIA HEAD COACH  (ACC COACH OF THE YEAR), said "I think it's great for our fan interest that the fact it's us and Maryland, you know, one last time before they depart the league."
