Myrtle Beach, SC - The comeback 'Cats were at it again Tuesday night, erasing a 3-0 deficit early to win 4-3 at Myrtle Beach for their first win over the Pelicans in five tries this season.
Lynchburg starter Jarrett Miller pitched six innings, allowing three runs and only four hits. Ryan Kelly pitched the final three innings scoreless for Lynchburg. The Hillcats scored two in the sixth, then two more in the seventh to grab their first lead, one they would hold the rest of the way.
With the win, the Hillcats pull within two-and-a-half games of Northern Division leader Potomac, who lost at Carolina 6-4. Potomac's magic number to clinch the first-half title remains at 3. The first half wraps up Sunday.
The rubber match between the Hillcats and Pelicans is Wednesday night at 7:05. Riight-handed pitcher Wes Parsons (4-2, 3.56) will start for the Hillcats against lefty Victor Payano (3-3, 4.97) for Myrtle Beach.
