Lynchburg City Schools Seek Employers for New High School Internship Program

Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Regional Chamber, in partnership with Lynchburg City Schools, is seeking local employers willing to host high school seniors for a career internship as part of a new “Work Ready” class being offered through Lynchburg City Schools.

The internship includes a combination of classroom instruction at the local school and then site-based training at a company.

Interested employers would host interns for a minimum of three hours a week for 30 weeks in the workplace beginning in late September 2014. Students will be responsible for daily logs, reflections, and other assignments.

Employers will be required to complete application forms, review business guidelines,sign off on student’s daily logs and monitoring rubrics. The desired outcome will be students that are better prepared to work for you having the foundational business and social skills that are critical to the workplace.
