Richmond's Lawrence Wins VSGA Junior Match Play

 Lynchburg - 17-year-old Mark Lawrence of Richmond won Friday's state Junior Match Play Championship at Boonsboro.  The rising senior at Mills Godwin High beat Logan Yates of Ruckersville 4&3 in the championship match.  Lawrence played bogey-free golf Friday, winning his second-straight Junior Match Play title.  Lawrence again received the Clyde L. Luther Trophy, awarded to the event champion.  He's the second straight Richmond-based golfer to claim back-to-back VSGA Junior Match Play Championships, joining Adam Ball, who won in 2011 and 2012.
