CME Outfitters, LLC (CMEO) will host an interactive medical symposium Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 12:30pm 2:00pm in San Francisco. Interested clinicians must pre-register for the session in order to participate. The symposium, entitled, Taking the Long View in Improving Adherence to Immunosuppressant Therapy in Transplant Recipients, will be led by faculty experts Flavio Vincenti, MD, Gabriel M. Danovitch, MD, Simin Goral, MD, and Donald E. Hricik, MD. More information about the faculty is available on the registration webpage.

Immunosuppressant non-adherence manifests in several formsfrom taking a medication at the wrong time to not taking it at all and can be driven by medical and social issues. This unique and highly interactive case-based symposium will put the participants at the center of the discussion. Participants will interact with the faculty presenters to develop a treatment plan for a patient who will be onsite at the session. The expert-learner collaboration will focus on increasing clinician awareness of the core issues related to prolonging the life of an allograft over time, including the delicate balance of the immunosuppressants, managing side effects of the medication, and identifying medical and social barriers to patient adherence to prescribed treatments resulting in improved quality of life and long-term patient outcomes.
At the conclusion of the symposium, participants should be able to:
