Lynchburg - A power outage and downpour of rain forced the suspension of Tuesday night's Mudcats/Hillcats game in the bottom of the sixth.
Carolina and Lynchburg are tied at 3, the game will resume Wednesday night at 6:05 and will be followed by the regularly-scheduled 9-inning game.
Lynchburg's four hits in the game all came in the second inning, the four hits in a row as the Hillcats scored three runs to grab a 3-1 lead.
Carolina got one run back in the fifth, then LeVon Washington's solo homer in the sixth off Daniel Watts tied the game at three. In the bottom of the sixth, the Hillcats batting with two outs, a nearby transformer was struck by lightning, knocking out power. The power outage was followed by a downpour and the game was suspended shortly afterwards.
