US Officials Confirm a Missile Struck Down the Malaysia Plane in Ukraine

Eastern Ukraine – The question still remains, who is to blame for the Malaysia Airlines Boeing Triple-7 crash in Eastern Ukraine.

U.S. officials have confirmed that it is clear, the plane traveling at 33,000 feet from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by a sophisticated missile.

Debris from the fiery mass spread across 10 miles.

All of the 298 people on board were killed.

Officials say they are still unsure who launched the missile and from where.

Russia and pro-Russian rebels, who have been in a growing battle with Ukraine, deny any involvement.

Ukrainian officials claim they have evidence from two intercepted phone calls in which a separatist at the scene reportedly tells Russian military intelligence “We have just shot down a plane.”

The U.S. has urged rebels to not move anything – rebels claim they have found the plane’s black boxes.

Among those on board are three infants and a group of aid researchers traveling for a conference.

It is unclear if Americans were on board.

Ukraine - A Malaysia Airlines plane crashed in Ukraine Thursday afternoon, carrying 295 people.

It is believed all on board were killed.

A U.S. official says that American intelligence authorities now believe a surface-to-air missile took down the Malaysian passenger plane as it flew over eastern Ukraine Thursday.

The official says the U.S. is still working to determine additional details about the crash, including who fired the missile and whether it came from the Russian or Ukraine side of the border.

The plane was going from Amsterdam to Malaysia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says Ukraine bears responsibility for the crash.
