New Steeples In Place On St. Andrew's Church

Roanoke, VA - For the past several weeks historic St. Andrew's Catholic church in Roanoke has been without its two tallest steeples until now.

That's because a crane spent the day putting the newly fabricated steeples into place.

The old structures, made of pine wood, had been deteriorating after a century of bird infestation, termites and even a fire.

The new steeples are made of metal and covered with wood.

Once in place, work will begin to restore the steeples to their original look using much of the original material.
