Martinsville Police Make Meth Busts

Martinsville, VA - Martinsville Police searched a home on Forest Street in reference to the manufacture of meth Friday morning.
 
According to police, while searching the home, evidence was collected that was known to be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, including an active cooking device.

The Virginia State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team, Martinsville Fire & EMS, and Virginia Department of Emergency Management helped with the investigation.
    
According to police, 44 year old Frank Red Sink Jr. was charged with the following Felony charges: manufacture methamphetamine as well as possession of methamphetamine

Sink is being held without bond.


This is the second time in three weeks that the Martinsville Police have recovered methamphetamine and the elements associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. 

On July 11, 2014, Officers stopped a vehicle at Clearview and Harris Drive for improper equipment.  

During the stop, officers recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, pills and the plastic bottle apparently used for manufacturing the methamphetamine.

According to police, as a result of the traffic stop on July 11, 45 year old David R. Cannaday was arrested and charged with the following charges: possession of controlled substance as well as possession of marijuana.  

Cannaday is being held without bond.

The public is reminded of the dangers associated with the manufacture and use of methamphetamine.
