Campbell Co., VA – The mother of two young girls who were tattooed will spend 18 months behind bars.

A Campbell County judge sentenced Melissa Delp Monday after she pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse. Two other malicious wounding charges were dropped.

Delp is one of three people charged in this case. Deputies say Alexander Edwards gave the two girls tattoos, and then they say Daniel Janney tried to remove them with a hot razor blade. Delp was charged because prosecutors say she did nothing to stop Janney.

Janney and Edwards have yet to stand trial for their charges.
