Lynchburg - The Hillcats' series finale with Potomac Thursday night was rained out and will not be made up.
Lynchburg's final homestand continues Friday night with the opener of a four-game series with Myrtle Beach. Monday's regular season home finale will also be the last for Hillcats' play-by-play man Erik Wilson, who's accepted a job with the Los Angeles Dodgers as their social media coordinator.
Erik Wilson, HILLCATS DIRECTOR OF BROADCASTING, said "I'm gonna be handling their Facebook, their Twitter, updating during games, doing some marketing for 'em using social media, covering all the games for the Dodgers."
While going home and working for the Dodgers is a dream, calling Hillcats' games the past four years has been a great opportunity for Wilson, his first full-time job.
Erik Wilson said "I'm so appreciative to Paul Sunwall and Ronnie Roberts and everyone I've met here and worked with. It's an incredible organization. I've had a great time, especially a kid from southern California who never thought he'd leave home to come all the way to Virginia for a job, it was a little scary. And this place has felt incredibly like home, more than I could have ever imagined."
