350 Corvettes Cruise for 5th National Corvette Caravan

Posted: Updated:

350 Corvettes cruise through Tulsa to benefit the National Corvette Museum that was damaged by a sinkhole and celebrate the museum's 20th Anniversary.

The Caravan started in Southern California last Friday and picked up cars from Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas before arriving in Oklahoma.

It started on I-40 going east bound Monday morning. Local participants were at Frontier Chevrolet to greet the arriving caravan. Around 11:30 a.m., Corvettes arrived in El Reno en route to Historic 66 via I-35; the Caravan then started crossing the Tulsa area around 4:30 p.m. on I-44 and has plans to stay overnight at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Catoosa.

They are planning on leaving out at 9:00 a.m. en route to Springfield, MO.

The Caravan will continue their journey through Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky and arrive in Bowling Green, KY at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27th.

The Southwest Combined Caravan is one of about 30 caravans from the United States and Canada driving to Bowling Green to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum. The caravan kicks off a three-day celebration of thousands of Corvette enthusiasts from all over the world.

Attendance is expected to be especially high this year due to the museum being damaged in February after a large sinkhole which swallowed several classic Corvettes. Construction to repair the hole has been delayed until after the 20th Anniversary Celebration.
